Here at the 73 Ranch we strive to raise the highest quality of black heifers in the industry. We run up to 2000 heifers in the beautiful Missouri breaks of central Montana. These heifers are all hand picked out of the best females in the country.

We A.I. (artificial insemination) all of our heifers to the best bulls in the industry with the highest performance in calving ease and fast growth.

On the 73 Ranch we handle all of our heifers on horseback with some of the best cow-horses in Montana. Our heifers are quiet and easy to move in and out of pastures and pens.

In the fall, begins the gathering and selling of these great heifers. We sell them in semi-load lots (40-45 per lot) all over Montana and the western states. Some heifers are consigned yearly to good livestock "special bred heifer sales’, others are sold right off the ranch "private treaty". We believe these young black high performance, quality heifers will be a great addition to anyone’s herd.
